The humanitarian situation there is beyond words and will remain engraved in my memory forever. As soon as we entered the Strip, we saw destroyed homes, shattered cars, and rubble everywhere. Children ran toward our vehicle, pointing to their mouths and saying they were hungry. There wasn’t a single intact building — everything was in ruins. People were sleeping on the ground, in hallways, in front of elevators, and even on staircases. Most were wounded by bullets, shrapnel, or bombs, while patients with chronic diseases like heart conditions and diabetes were dying in their tents without treatment. There weren’t even basic anesthetic drugs available, and simple painkillers like paracetamol were scarce. Patients screamed in pain after surgeries. Medical staff were forced to discharge some patients due to overcrowding, sending them back to their tents despite their urgent need for continued medical care.
